In my case it was easy. My wife was steeped in the social media thing. All I had to do was point out the online social features of SFI as well as how easy it was to make some money and she was off and running.

So, once again I ask, “What does your spouse like?”

Online? Or offline?
Like to talk? “Chat”?
Get her (him) their own business cards. Or maybe their own website with a blog.
How about a gym membership or some type of social club you could join together so you can spread the news about your family business?
Perhaps they are the email person on your team or maybe they like talking on the phone.

The possibilities are endless.

But never forget. You are a team. This is not your business with her just helping out. She is a 50/50 partner or, I promise, the interest that was there at the beginning will disappear.

I would love to have a partner in my SFI business.

The SFI affiliate agreement is very clear about the rules of signing up family members - so before you do anything go and read the rules and make sure you know SFI's rules - how you are permitted to get your spouse involved and how it is not permitted.

What I would do is the following: I would look at my strengths and weaknesses as well as my spouses and then divide the work according to that. You each do what you are good at. Having your spouse and partner taking on the things you are not good at will give you more time to do what you are good at and vice versa.

Treat your SFI business as any other business and agreed about your involvement and the roles you play like you would do in any other business. Working as a team will give you a better chance to make a huge success with your SFI business.

Getting your spouse involve in your SFI business is a great leap to success. He/she is your spouse and you definitely not new to each other. Some ways to get ones spouse involve are:

1. Recruitment- Educating ones spouse of the benefits of duplication is important. This is a process that guarantees life earning. Your spouse can assist in recruiting his/her colleagues, friends and business associates.

This is a good question, and while I agree that marriage creates a perfect team, I have to point out that the SFI business isn't everyone's cup of tea.

My wife is currently on the fence with regards to my SFI business, though she remains very supportive, and I am constantly trying to impress her with the wide variety of products on offer by showering her with gifts bought from Tripleclicks.

I have only been doing this business for seven months and have already made great strides, I have a lot of PSA's in my downline and have even made a small amount of profit which I re-invest in my business buying gifts for my wife.

Although she is not actively involved in the business she is constantly asking me how I am doing and congratulating me for even the smallest of achievements which makes me even more determined to give it everything I can.

After all, my family is what matters most to me, and by the same token, SFI is an extension of my family.

After all, you have the rare opportunity to work with someone whom you implicitly trust. You know their strengths, their weaknesses and that their interests are directly inline with your own.
The rewards can be great but when things go wrong, you can potentially ruin both your marriage and your business. Even though my wife and I get along really well, working with her on the business has been extremely challenging.
For example, my wife and I never used to fight at all before we launched our online store. Never!
We Divided Up The Responsibilities
One of our biggest problems early on was that we both tried to do everything ourselves and constantly clashed over key decisions. For example, my wife and I constantly argued about what products to carry and what look and feel we wanted for the store.

Did we want to appear sophisticated or casual and fun? Did we want to start off with only a limited product selection or did we want to open our business with a comprehensive array of items? What were our customer support policies? How quickly did we want to launch the store?

We kept stepping on each others toes and even worked on redundant tasks in the beginning since we each had our own ideals of how we wanted the business to be run. Ultimately, after a bunch of fights, we decided that it was best to divide up the decision making power and responsibilities.

If they have an interest in helping out with the SFI Business you can start them on small task like creating 10 new classifieds ads a day, or if they write you can set them up a blog with an ad for SFI in the sidebar and let them blog away.

The big thing to remember is you can't have 2 accounts in the same house with one signed under the other. That is called double dipping and robs someone else of a commission they are owed and another the matching VP if that second account also has a standing order and generates income.

The best idea is to work together to build one dream and figure out how to divvy the spoils when your business becomes profitable. The best thing about working with your spouse is when one is discouraged the other can lift them up and great amounts of work can be accomplished with two sets of hands that would be impossible for one.

First of all you need to have your spouse onside and supporting your SFI endeavour. To do this I keep mine informed of all that is going on and share with him details of my team and their achievements (or lack thereof). I have also asked him to sit with me and discuss a business plan and how much of both time and money to invest. In this way, he knows what my timetable is and when I will be busy 'doing SFI' and therefore not require me for other things at those times.

How much and what kind of involvement your spouse has depends on each of your skills and available time and money.

If your spouse is a better writer than you, perhaps he/she could write blog articles for you or an autoresponder campaign. If he/she has some IT skills perhaps he could design a webpage or splash page for you. My husband hasn't actually spent time working on my webpages, but he has looked at them and given useful feedback.

He also listens to my articles and autoresponder messages and tells me how he thinks others might perceive them. Sometimes I have rewritten them to take his ideas into account.

Unfortunately that is the extent of involvement my spouse has, but it is a help, and is certainly better than opposing me. If he were more available, I'd ask him to perhaps log in and do the daily actions, and maybe place ads which I have already prepared.

Having your spouse's involvement is a definite plus, even if it is only in a relatively small way, such as mine.

There is a popular saying that goes like this: Two heads are better than one.

Your spouse can be a great asset to your SFI business in many ways. Most of the time, spouses share a common circle of friends, but even with a common circle of friends, you still have some differences within the circle. Your spouse can reach the friends you do not normally talk to, and that will instantly double your coverage.

If your spouse works a job, you can encourage your spouse to look for ways to get SFI into the conversation during break times and the lunch hour. If your spouse has a business that can easily become an online business, you can become an ECA and help that business and yourself at the same time.

However, before you can do any of that, you have to first convince your spouse that SFI is a worthwhile business to invest your time, energy, and money in. And the best way to do that is to make your first recruiting "sales pitch" to your spouse. Show all the great benefits of being part of SFI and get the message across that it would be much better if you had a partner to help.
