If you decide to read something and I put a book in front of you as well as an advert full of information - which one are you going to pick?
Where ever you advertise - put yourself in the reader's position.  if I can use myself as an example.  I would take a magazine or newspaper and only read what I am interested in. As for the adverts - there's a few things that will make me look at an advert.  This is also the case of online adverts.
1.  Colour - if it is my favourite colour or a bright colour it would peak my interest.
2.  A picture - something cute or bold or out of the ordinary / unique will catch my
    eye.
3.  Bold Words, short effective sentences that leaves no question about what the advert
    is promoting.
Even if you get all of the above right - the moment I see words like: EASY MONEY. BECOME A MILLIONAIRE IN 5 MINUTES A DAY etc, I smell a rat and I won't investigate it as a possibility for me to make money - so DO NOT lie in your ads.  it will come back to bite you.
Unless you are very good at making up good ad slogans and catchy phrases I would suggest you use the marketing tools SFI provides for our use.  Remember - they've been around a lot longer than us, they made mistakes and learned from it and what they us was designed and improved through trial and error - so we get the advantage of their experience.  Why would we want to make our own mistakes?
