I want to recruit only SERIOUS affiliates. What should I tell prospects about SFI to ensure this?

SFI is a multinational affiliate marketing company and it has succeeded in it's venture for 16 and more years. The business itself enforces improvement for all affiliates for them to grow in mastering online marketing concepts as business owners. I will recommend you tell your serious affiliates you will know a serious affiliate prospect by him/her asking questions wanting to know about the business and are genuinely determined to have their own business and improve their lifestyle.
Firstly use simple terms to explain to them about SFI how you understood it when you were first introduced to the system.
Secondly tell them your own fist hand experience with the program, your achievements so far and growth Strategies you enforce in maintaining and building your business.
And lastly show them training videos like (The start Video) which summarises and explains the whole system fr your understanding.

When starting out in SFI, is it better to invest in advertising or in an EA-qualifying purchase?

Well on the SFI basic duplication is one of the basic point to advance in building your SFI business. BY advertising you are getting the word out there about your business wanting to attract prospect to your team because having a working team can boost your business. With Purchases of 1500 orr more vp products to qualify each month is also a point for advancement.
I will encourage you to do both and see you advance and grow your business

Where are the best places and what are the best ways to get answers about SFI?

I think the Forum is a great place to get your Questions Answered as there are affiliates who can help you and lean from each other. But you can always use the SFI basic, Lunch pad and make use of the Black ribon tabs in your SFI home page they provide a lot of information on different tools in SFI

Sales is the exchange of value be it a product or service. For instance if you walk into a grocery store to buy fresh milk which is a valuable to you and you are ready to part with cash which is a monetary value you are willing to exchange for the milk and when you buy the milk the value exchange has be executed the store made sale of something valuable and you the customer made a purchase of something valuable.
Now to your question a salesperson is one who sales something be it physical product or services rendered. To become a great Salesman or Saleswomen you must understand your product love your product and sometimes use your product which gives you passion to tell others about the benefits of the products. You can't sell something to someone you know nothing about. Sometimes some sales people convince customers to try a product with different brand from their known brand just because they know alot about the product (Some may even approach you and say you should try this one am using it too and it has work for me and sometimes show you physical evidence to attest the fact).
So know your product have passion for your product and genuinely have a customer satisfaction goal.

Is it worthwhile to create individual, personalized welcome letters to new PSAs using information from their Affiliate Profile?

YES.Every single one of our PSAs are our direct team and to sponsor them we must treat them as individuals and not just numbers. People like to be recognised and appreciated so a new affiliate will feel that he/she is in the right place when they have signed up and know nothing about the system but opening their email and seeing your personalised welcome letter is very helpful i say this because when i joined SFI and the next day i log in to my email account and my sponsor had sent me this beautiful welcome e-card with personalised notes it motivated me to know that this is areal business and there are real people out there trying to build and grow this business. Am now three months old with SFI and my sponsor still sends me personalised notes.

Is it better to provide prospects with only a brief overview of what SFI is about...or more lengthly, detailed information?

Some prospects will get it when told in simple and yet precise point about this business and others will want to get futher clarification and in-depth information of what you are trying to tell them so i will suggest you tell your prospect about SFI the way you understood it when you were first introduced to the system.
But remember whether the information you plan to convey to your prospects whether brief or lengthy it is very important that you keep the importance and value preposition the business which is SFI that you want t offer to them

Well i will like to suggest that you support them by encouraging them sending them personal mails and even call those yo have their phone numbers for them to see that you care about their success and their SFI business. Again never be discourage to stop sponsoring them even if after all your tries they are still not active keep doing it with smiles as you continue you are learning too to become a power leader and a good motivator and keep in mind that your hardwork and efforts will never go unrecognised.

How do you get new PSAs to commit to SFI?

New PSAs barely know their way around and they will quickly try to give up because they are not familiar with the business. But as a sponsor or team leader you must be able to understand their plight because you have been new too and know exactly what they are going through and why they have not been active with their business.
I will suggest the following inorder to give your new PSAs a boost and get them Active
1, Giving them gift cards which will let them know that you really want them to succeed in this business.
2, weekly sending them messages or even setting up Team/Sponsors meetings whether via phone or email
3, constantly recognize the ones that show interest in building their SFI business and duplicate your achievements through them
4, lastly as a team leader you are the example try by all means to maintain your own growth to give them a success to look forward to.

It is important to have people take up leadership roles under their leaders because it helps them master and learn while in the position.
Team members will become better leaders themselves as they are often delegated in doing leadership roles and this is a great way to have a successful and well equipped team which can chip in ideas that their leaders will learn from and overall the whole team will be successful
