Prospecting is one of the most important activities for growing your SFI business and certainly you would want to prospect locally. There are many advantages to local prospecting to include the following:
1. Local team collaboration. If your prospects are from your hometown, then you can meet at a local conference center and you can share your SFI progress with your team in real time. If someone doesn't understand how to do something you can just show them! In the 21st century, you can still teach remotely but there is a certain magic when you can look someone squarely in the face and say "Here's what I did to achieve EA and this is how you can do it too!"
2. Solidarity. Simply put the synergy you can build from a local team of affiliates is unmistakeable. Duplication is not rocket science because your team can relate to you in more ways than one. Your presence is commanding and assuring that SFI is real and tangible. Although this can be achieved online, it is more difficult when their are barriers caused by various skill sets, language difference, and socioeconomics across cultural difference.
3. Fast start. You are more likely to understand people from your own geographical region than you would elsewhere. This perpetuates the likelihood of a higher team activity percentage and therefore greater gains. Just because someone is next door does not guarantee success; however, it removes many of the barriers that inhibit team effort.
In light of the aforementioned, at some point in time your local pool of prospects is going to dry up temporarily opening the door for the need to prospect elsewhere. So yes, you should prospect in your own area, town, city, district, region, state and country. But don't just limit your search there. Start local then branch out.
Finally, allow me to address the need to prospect everywhere. This is really up to you but remember there are certain qualities and tools that one must possess in order to be successful in SFI. Yes, there are people in every country I am quite sure that will make excellent SFI affiliates. Although some regions of the world are better dispositioned technologically and educationally. So if you are going to be wise with your advertising then spend your time and money recruiting from places where you will find the best affiliates. As you gain more experience you will find that advertising in these places will usually cost you more money. Go figure and do what is best for your business according to your budget.
