What's the best way to get new affiliates signed up without having to answer a lot of questions first?

Maybe that I do not understand this question right....
1. I promote the idea of my Affiliates asking questions. They think differently than I do. They see things differently and I gain their vision.
2. They sometimes ask me questions that I do not know the answers, and I need to refer to my own "upline".
3. Not once I was ignored / not answered by my Sponsor or Co Sponsor. They have always come back to me with an idea to solve the question asked.
The way I see it: To ask questions is a way of learning the finer "tricks" in the business. One can only develop business knowledge to a certain extend on your own. Thereafter you need some development via resources of some kind.
I see my questions from Affiliates as such a "resource". I learn from them just as much as they they learn from me...
I have my own way of doing things, but I do not know if it is actually the right way. Sometimes I change my path only due to a question or remark of a new member.
Communication in SFI is key.I plead with my Affiliates to ask questions! I know where I have started in this business. I had a lot of questions....
DO NOT discourage someone to ask questions. You will both learn in this process, and it will be a "win-win situation to you and the affiliate. Does not matter who you are, there is always another perspective of things. Use this to your own advance.
Hope this make sence......

I am not very good at talking to people. How can I talk to them about SFI or TripleClicks in a simple and easy way?

There is a simple strategy to get over the fear of talking to people, that is based on 2 pillars.
1. Speak with knowledge. Know what you are talking about and make sure you are a master of the product or service, and if in some odd way you get asked something that you do not know, just admit it, and get back to that person later when you have found the correct answer. This build respect rather than disbelieve.
2. Speak with authority. You can only do this once you have tried and tested the product or service yourself. You can only do this if you believe in the concept that you are selling.
Practice the above and start with people that you know well and are comfortable with.
To speak to people is not a talent, it is a skill we can develop. Practice make perfection, and it will get easier time after time.
Try this one! It worked for me.

How can you be an SFI Team Leader if you're not a born leader?

No one is born a leader, but passion about what needs to be done will develop your leadership skills along with your confidence.
Confidence comes with knowledge: You need to understand what you are selling and supporting.
Knowledge go hand-in-hand with POWER: Power to motivate, and duplicate and that make you a LEADER.
Leadership begins with a simple mind-set of "I want to be......"
Leadership is simply related to an attitude.
Go for the option to self develop, and leadership skills will develop in time.

How do I assure that duplication happens in those I sponsor?

You cannot ensure duplication. You can however increase your percentage of effectiveness of duplication. Good leaders produce good leaders. Your honesty and guidance will mold the next generation of leadership.
Your own actions will control your destiny and the destiny of your followers. It may sound political, but it's been proven by history.
As a new Team Leader, what is the single most important thing I should be doing?

You limit this to "one thing" and that make this not an easy question to answer. I will however be able to answer this in one sentence:
Lead from the front, and by example, whilst having a strong work ethic with honest and transparent business values.
This is not the only answer, nut this one while take you a long way....
What are the things about SFI that most convince people to join?

People are convinced by a strong approach. You as an ambassador for SFI should have the knowledge to counter any "uneasy" questions that may come your way.
Make sure you have your facts right and are "on the top of your game" when you enter the conversation, so that you can speak with authority.
This work in all sales environments, and SFI is not different.
Confidence comes with knowledge. Make sure you know what you are talking about.
Lastly: Always be honest.
Good luck
