How do you learn to write effective ads if you have never written any ads before?

Hello Dan -
For me, it was part trial and error and learning as i went. SFI has many different templates to look at and pull from.
The ads I ran I always made sure they were to the point and as clear as possible. Stating who it is, what you are offering and then where to get it.
The other thing I would advise is to become familiar with key codes and the hit tracking page. This way you can see for sure what is working and where it is working. Tweek what isn't and run with what is.
I hope this helps and Good Luck!

Thousands of SFI affiliates are doing the same thing. How do you stand out from the crowd?

This is a great question, but not an easy answer.
The best advice I could give you, to stand out, you have to lead by example. Work SFI like your life depended on it. Get involved in the forums, the auctions, the games and by checking in everyday and getting your daily points. Build your reputation as a leader and not a follower. You've already started this process by getting involved in Ask SC. In a nutshell - You have to put in the time. When most of those thousands realize you have to put in time to be successful, they will quit. Never Quit!!
Have a Great Day!

Is it wise to 'bribe' your downline with Gift Certificates, TCredits or other incentives? Or does this practice come back and bite you?

I had this very same thought a few months ago.
Obviously, you only want to reward your team mates that are working and not reward the ones that are not willing to work.
My incentive idea was if my PSA's made EA2 two months in a row and also had a standing order set up, I would reward them with 3 PSA's that I received through the S-Builder CO-OP.
The only problem is that I STILL have not had any luck with this reward program. Maybe I need to rethink it a little.
Anyway, back to your question - Yes, I think it is a good idea to reward team mates that want to work, as long as THEY ARE working.
All the best!

What keywords are best to use when placing ads?

Hi Leslie.
This is a very good question, but by now I am sure that you have enough examples of keywords to use in ads.
Now I want to bring it all home so you have the best chance of bringing in affiliates with your ads. In all the Ask SC answers I have read for this question, I still have not seen anyone bring up Key Codes and Hit Tracking. All of the best keywords do not mean a thing if you are not tracking your progress.
You need to track your progress with your ads using Key Codes and Hit Tracking!
If you are not it really is a crap shoot as to what is working, when it is working and where it is working. This is the ONLY way you will find out if certain keywords are in fact keywords.
Familiarize yourself with Key Codes and Hit Tracking, they can both be found under the tab "Power Tools", and your success rate will increase ten fold. Keep what works and discard what doesn't. I hope this helps.
All the best!

What should I avoid when creating SFI ads?

Hello -
Short and Sweet.
I would say and I know from experience, to be careful not to place ads on certain forums. Some forums welcome ads and others do not. In my case I looked at all the fine print first and if they did not allow certain ads (or other wise known to some as spam)I would leave it alone. Some on the other hand would happily accept ads. Then the others say they accept ads, but end up turning around and blocking your ads.
Also become very familiar with Key Codes and Hit Tracking. When placing ads this will be your new best friend. This will tell you exactly what works and what doesn't.
Hope this helps

How do I assure that duplication happens in those I sponsor?

Sorry Khalil there is no assurance that duplication will happen.
The best advise is to work the system and use the tools that SFI has given you. Once you start getting PSA's that want to work, make sure you are there ready to work with them. Make sure you show them that this is a real business and that you want them to be a part of it Hopefully they will see the potential and want to work the business and work with you. I always tell my PSA's that this is a team oriented business. If you are not willing to work as a team, then there will be NO duplication.

How do you handle prospects and affiliates who expect to get rich fast?

In this day and age of immediate gratification, it is hard for most people to look past a few days. I would explain to prospects and affiliates that this is an investment. And while nothing is for certain, as far as making money, I think if someone puts in the time they will be rewarded. But that is the clencher - you have to put in the time.
I feel that is why so many affiliates go inactive. They sign up hoping that SFI will bring immediate cash and riches. They're not seeing this as an opportunity to invest in themselves and their futures. The ones that see this as an opportunity to better themselves financially and professionally are the ones that will stick around.
Ask the new affiliates where they see themselves in 2-5 years. Still working 40-60 hours a week or possibly making a huge residual income every month.
I know which one I am choosing!
Hopefully this helped.

What was your greatest challenge to success in SFI...and how did you overcome it?

For me and I am sure many others it is keeping your eye on the prize.
When financial freedom could be months or even years away, it is hard to keep the mindset that doing the work now will pay off greatly later.
"Why do it now when you can do it later" - Wrong, Wrong, Wrong. This is NOT the attitude to have. If it is, you have already been beaten.
The way I have overcome this is by checking in everyday since I have joined SFI. It has become habit. Even if it does become stagnant, it will be automatic to come home and get on the computer and do what needs to be done.
The other way I have overcome this is that, like I said, I have not missed a day since I joined. 14 more days and I have a nice 90 day streak going. There is no way I am going to mess that up!
I hope this helps and Good Luck in all you do!

How can you be an SFI Team Leader if you're not a born leader?

Look at all of the great leaders through out history and you will quickly discover they were not born that way. Somewhere along the way they saw an opportunity and stood up and took a chance. When no one else would, they rose to the occasion and made a name for themselves that will be remembered for a very long time.
Now....Enter you. That right there is describing everyone that saw an opportunity with SFI, took the chance and rose to the occasion. If you were not a leader you wouldn't have asked the question. You would have quit already.
Stop thinking you're not a leader and start thinking YOU are!!!!
Good Luck!!

Is it worthwhile to send individual welcome letters to new PSAs...or can I just send out group mailings?

This is a great question, but I am going to give you a mixed answer.
I think it is worthwhile to send individual letters to new PSA's. Getting that letter personalized might mean the difference between a tire kicker and someone who will actually work the system.
On the other hand, new PSA's are already getting a greeting from you when they first sign up. You do not want to come off as being pushy or just trying to sell them something. It really bothers me when I hear from my sponsor and all they are doing is trying to get me to buy more product from TripleClicks. There is no fluff or substance to the letter - it's just hey you should buy this.
Also - Who has time to send out individual welcome letters to new PSA's. Me, for instance, I try to every chance I can, but I have a full time job, two kids under two and an acreage to tend to. Yes I guess I am making excuses.
The point is - If you have time to send out personalized letters to all your new PSA's, then go for it. If you don't, just send an E-Card with a quick message on it. I have also used this method.
Hope this helps - Good Luck!
