Every Team Leader will want to motivate his/her downline to become TLs and not to stay EAs. There are important points that a Team Leader must take into consideration before taking into action to motivate his/her downline to move up from EA to TL and not stay at EA level.

Points to consider:

- Pushing your downline to move up from EA level to BTL, so just to benefit as their Team Leader without building their own downline will not work in the long run. This is achievable but duplication, which is the core of your SFI business, is out of the picture therefore it will not work.

- Educating your downline will take time. Don’t ignore the time factor needed to increase the knowledge base of your downline. Pressuring them to become TLs without the knowledge of implementing the SFI tools and resources will not work.
Assuming you have taken into consideration the points above, you can go ahead in employing the best way to motivate your downline to become TLs and not stay EAs.
Motivating your Members:

- Tell them about the benefits of being a Team Leader as laid out in Compensation plan and Benefits Chart. More VPs means bigger payouts, better perks and more power. This includes higher commissions, VP Matching, monthly free TCredits, Second Home CSAs allotment, access to Power Tools to grow their SFI business, etc.

- Organize a contest such as, Sponsoring Affiliates, referring TC/W3 members, generating TC sales, and so on offering Gift Certificates, TCredits or shares of your Ad Co-op.

- Recognizing achievements of your downline ranging from winning in the Daily Grand, E365, Power Ranks and so on. Send them E-Cards and post their achievements at SFI Forum Recognitions section.

- Assure them that you are committed to their success in helping them to achieve their goals to attain residual income.

If you’re getting started with your SFI business, you need to set up your business plan and marketing strategy taking into consideration the following points:

In launching your marketing campaign with a solid combination of media such as online classified ads, social media, e-mail, direct mail, etc. you’ll be getting leads and responses coming in just about everywhere. How would you know which of your marketing ads are stellar performers? And which ones need to be refined or replaced?

SFI has provided affiliates an invaluable tool in order to track their marketing responses. Save on your marketing budget by eliminating any non-performing media.

The best way to track your advertising responses is to key each ad with a unique code, so every lead can be identified according to its original source.

Here are three effective ways to make every lead identifiable:

- Use key codes

Use key codes in all your advertising campaign, whether you’re marketing SFI online or offline. Choose your own unique key codes and append it to the end of your SFI Identification number. For example: you’re promoting one of your SFI Gateway links, which features listings of SFI latest enrollments and earners with brief information about TripleClicks and have chosen a unique code 123, your link will appear like this: http://www.sfi4.com/SFIID.123/FREE.

By adding different key codes to your Gateway links, you’ll be able to identify quickly and easily the effectiveness of your marketing efforts.
Do not use the following key codes which are currently reserved for SFI corporate:

When new affiliates joined my team, I’m very much excited. I send them my welcome message right away. I get my new PSAs through my website/blog. S-Builder Co-op and through purchase from ECAs.

I have been in that situation, where some of my PSAs were very much active in their first month then gradually slow down becoming less active. Some of them have maintained their EA status every month and moved up to TL rank. I have experienced from this group of most active affiliates after attaining the TL rank stopped logging in and became inactive. I have been closely working with them (they’re my movers).

I felt sad for not seeing them in my Movers tab and Genealogy. I would like to be a part of their success and to see them experience the fruits of their labor as they grow their SFI business. We have been keeping in touch at least two to three times a week. We motivate and encourage one another, even though we were separated thousands of miles from one another, yet we have established trust in our relationship and became close.

I’m going to answer your question based on my experience. What do you do about PSAs that start off great but then suddenly become completely inactive?

- Your course of action will depend on your PSAs situation.

From the day your new affiliates signed up under your team, your messages, which include welcome message, weekly support messages should focus on building and establishing trust between you and your new affiliates. By doing that, your PSAs will most likely share both business and life challenges. In my experience, I was able to find out the following reasons why some of my TLs stopped logging in.

1. Coping with illness, including close relatives

2. Career change.

3. Additional responsibilities and obligations in the family making it difficult to invest time with SFI.

- Have a positive attitude. Don’t try to push your luck in changing other’s opinion. Set a good example instead.

When your active downline suddenly become inactive because life has got in the way for them – what do you do?

When you’re trying to set up a blog and your widgets or plugins or apps just won’t work properly, or you’re trying to do something that you just don’t understand – what do you do?

When your children or family need you or when your job is very tiring but you know you need to call your leads, do a training or create a blog post – what do you do?

You see what I found out was that the only real difference between me as a success and me as a failure was my own personal mindset, persistence and commitment.

You see when your head is in the right place – the technical obstacles become immaterial, because you just know that a solution will present itself. It always does.

When the leads start to come in, then eventually the income starts to come in too, the self doubt disappears – have you noticed that? It is only when there are very little or no activities of your downline that the self doubt starts to creep in, you start doubting yourself and then finally it cripples your SFI business if you allow it too.

Does this mean that if you just start thinking positively you can just sit back and wait for everything to work on its own?

No of course not. I have worked very hard this year to achieve my goals but having a strong reason/motivation, a disciplined approach to my SFI business, and the persistence to see things through have helped me enormously to remain positive and focused on my goals.

Before you come up with the best strategy in attracting younger people aged 21-35, you’ll need to find out what they are interested in. What kind of activities most of them are engaging in? Do you have something that they want in order to get their attention? Can you provide solutions to their needs? Are you targeting this age demographic in your region or worldwide? Geographical demographic is another key factor that must be taken into consideration when developing your best strategy.

Aside from these important questions above, you need to consider when developing the best strategy that works for you the following:

1. Gather all the facts related to network marketing using the Internet or your local library about the history and the present trend of this age group in attracting them.

2. The 21-to-35 age demographic may have faced a distinct set of economic, communication and market variables completely different than any previous group of young generations in your region.

3. You can also look for government sponsored full-service marketing research in your region about study results of this age group and about their socio-economic needs. Generally, this demographic has less disposable income and is often saddled with student loans, so if you’re offering TC products to attract them, you might not be getting their attention, because they don’t have the money to invest. You’ll most likely get results when you offer them the opportunity to earn income by generating sells at TripleClicks without investing money from their own pocket.

4. You also need to consider the effectivity of the advertising channels you’re going to use. It is apparent that the traditional communication vehicles of direct mail and newspaper and radio advertising are extremely outdated for the young demographic. A benefit of the new social media platforms is that online business like SFI can reach their target audience on a 24/7 schedule, instead of hoping that they see or hear a random advertisement. The younger demographic does not mind receiving information after standard business hours, late-night or even overnight so they can review it when they wake up in the morning.

The younger prospects are embedded in the digital age and seek deeply connected and interactive content via ever-changing social channels.

5. The younger demographic are very much connected with the element of social interaction. The Pricebenders Auction and EZ games offer social interaction and fun online. They’ll have much fun playing with other people around the world.

SFI offers a lot of value for this age group of 21 to 35, who do not have a lot of money in their pocket and who have not come close to reaching their earning potential.

The key to integrating the next generation of becoming active SFI affiliates is to adapt your strategy towards their habits and preferences instead of exposing them to traditional marketing promotions, which are less relevant to them.

Have you asked them this question: “Can SFI change my life?” You’re the best example to them as their Team Leader. The display of your badges in your Leadership page, your frequent participation in SFI Forum and ASK SC, Power Rank and so on, speak of you. You’re an example before them that they would want to follow you.

For me, in regards to promotion/incentive I reward, those PSAs, who excels in sponsoring, accumulating VersaPoints to become a Team Leader and those who are logging in daily, showing their strong desire by communicating often in regards to their advancement to the next level.

If they could see the high level of enthusiasm, your passion in you in doing your SFI activities and that may depend also on how you communicate to them, then you have won their hearts.
