What are the best ways to stay in contact with PSAs and CSAs and how often is best?

Here are my thoughts on this:
I consider email the best way to stay in touch with your team. You can put your thoughts in writing, review them and hit send. Plus, you can email a group of affiliates at the same time.
How often? No more than once a week for the first month after them joining. They receive one message a day from SFI (Launchpad) and more than a weekly email from you, offering support, may be overwhelming for the new affiliates.
After the first month I recommend the weekly newsletter and occasional emails to encourage the ones I feel are slipping away, to congratulate the ones are achieving success, and, of course, to respond to any questions I receive from my team.
No matter how often you contact them it's important to be honest, professional and show them you care about their success.

What is your advice to those who want to pursue this business but have limited time to invest into it?

Ok, you have limited time to invest in this business.
In this case you have to be able to make monetary investments, no sugar coating here. You don't have time to search for free advertising sites and place ads - use paid advertising. You don't have time to create and maintain a blog/website to attract new affiliates and TripleClicks members - pay someone to do it for you. And so on.
One thing that you can not get away from is the 20-30 minutes every day allocated to your ToDo list tasks, checking and responding to emails and team mail messages - you still have to be an awesome sponsor and be there for your team. This can't be put on autopilot!

What's the best way to target my advertising to certain groups of people?

Rebecca,
Targeted advertising techniques are used by every advertiser online, in print, and on TV to reach the audience most likely to be interested in a seller's product. Look at others ads around you and take note on what the ad is for and where and when it is placed!
Depending on what part of the SFI business you're advertising think about what group of people will be most interested about it and place your ads/advertise where these people are; whether it is online or physical presence try to join that group and make your presentation.
Example: if you are trying to sell TCredits you may want to target the group of people most likely to be interested in the TCredits - people that like bidding in auctions or bidding in general, people that gamble on line or at casinos.
If you want to promote the ECA program you may want to advertise in local small business associations, find how these small entrepreneurs network with each other and use this info to place your ads.
Focus on one aspect of the SFI business, research your targeted audience and advertise to that audience only.
Best of Luck!

How can you offer financial support to a hard-working PSA/CSA who is truly financially challenged?
Liliana R., Aff (Arizona, US)

Affiliate since: 07/09/2013, Power Rank: 99999999
I would not offer financial support before I know for sure the person is indeed hard-working; to me that would be earning 10 point a day, every day for at least a month.
Once I see this happening I will first transfer 3-4 PSA's to this person so he/she can collect 120 VP per month using the PSA/CSA Mailer.
Next step would be transfer of TCredits for him/her to use in PB auctions, purchase product, etc.
Then I'll send a gift certificate as a reward for achieving a goal, whether qualifying as EA or sponsoring, etc.
Bottom line, I would not offer financial support w/o setting some goals; if you help and don't ask for anything in return you'll end up spoiling the affiliate and when you stop the financial support nothing gets done anymore.

How can I convince my downline of the benefits of having a Standing Order without them feeling pressured?

First, lead by example by having a Standing Order yourself. Second, use the explanation below to make your team members understand the benefits of having a SO.
A Standing Order, and I assume we are talking about a SO with 1200 VP or more, is meant to help maintain the EA status every month.
You do not need a SO to make an maintain EA. Below are a few ideas that one can use to achieve and maintain EA2 status w/o any purchase.
1. Make sales at TC and earn both the VP and commission for the product.
2. Refer small business owners to the ECA program and when they list their first product, you receive 100 VP.
3. Build a team of affiliates by advertising on free websites, safelists, etc.
4. Sponsor and promote Duplication. When you support your PSA's to make and maintain EA2 or better you receive between 100 and 300 VP every month.
But, having a Standing Order will guarantee the 1200 VP or 1500 VP and free your time to focus on all the above activities and ultimately increase your commission.
A Standing Order will speed up your "growth" in this business.
More than that, a SO will give you a discount on the price of the item and piece of mind knowing that your favorite item will be delivered to you every month.

How do you explain to new affiliates what VersaPoints are and what they are used for?
Liliana R., Aff (Arizona, US)

There are two types of VersaPoints: Action and Sale.
Action VersaPoints are points awarded for doing the actions listed on the SFI To-Do List.
Doing these actions will show an affiliate how SFI works and help him/her get trained.
Sale VersaPoints are earned by selling or purchasing TripleClicks products.
As the VersaPoints accumulate, payouts and perks increase as each VP has a monetary value.
Power Ranking is based on the number of VersaPoints one accumulates. There are few more badges related to the the number of VP one has.
So, the more VersaPoints the better but this is not all that's required to be successful.
More info on VersaPoints can be obtained here:

Hope this helps.

What would you consider to be too much and unnecessary communication with your team?
Liliana R., Aff (Arizona, US)

The potential for "too much communication" is very high the first month after joining the program. SFI sends new affiliates at least one email message a day in the first 30 days. Adding to this, other than the welcome message and the weekly newsletters, tailored for the new affiliates, will be "too much communication" in my opinion.
After the first month more than two emails per week I think would be too much if the affiliate does not have questions and does not ask for help.
The two emails could be the news letter and tips or advice for each particular affiliate based on their performance.

Should we recruit our family members into SFI? Good idea or not?

This is a tricky one!
I would say YES and NO.
YES to all family members if you are successful in SFI and can prove it. If your monetary investment is smaller than your commission every month and your projections for near future look promising I would not hesitate to try to recruit all of them.
But, if you're still at the beginning and just started climbing the SFI success ladder:
YES to the family members that are close to you, that know your potential, trust you and would listen to you with an open mind.
NO to the family members that don't know you very well, that will most certainly ask about your income and may take it as you're desperate to recruit. Being that you are related this may put a dent in your relationship and you don't want that to happen.
To extrapolate, I would say same theory applies to friends.
To your success.

What do you do with affiliates who never do anything--despite your constant encouragement and offers of support?
Liliana R., Aff (Arizona, US)

Honestly, if after about 10 weekly news letters that I send to my entire team I still don't see any interest I just move on.
I still send the weekly emails to them but my hopes of them ever waking up are very low - this way at least I eliminate the frustration and disappointment.
I focus my efforts on the workers and let the other ones just be.
Chances for them coming back are slim to none.

This should be easy!
For a minimal one time investment of less than $2 and a little effort taking and uploading a photo every month you receive great benefits, month after month.
Really, this is the easiest way to start on the path of your success with SFI! Nothing to lose here but lots to gain!
